Hotel NordRaum
06.02.2018

In recent months, it has been quiet on the Hotel NordRaum blog. However, it was anything but quiet at the hotel itself because 2017 was marked by renovations.

While one might make the decision to give their home a completely new look in the comfort of their own four walls, perhaps during a brief break watching the evening news on the couch or flipping through the latest IKEA catalog, this decision is anything but easy when running a hotel – after all, guests should be able to enjoy their vacation and the hotel's amenities even during renovations.

"Hospitality consists of a little warmth, a little food, and great tranquility," as the proverb rightly says. Oh dear – does the latter still work with drilling noise and the like? Today, about 14 months later, we can affirm this question. Despite hammering, drilling, and sawing, only six guests left early – a whopping 26,889 stayed. Thank you very much for that! From now on, Hotel NordRaum boasts a total of 88 rooms, with 56 undergoing a complete overhaul and 13 practically emerging out of nowhere. We are particularly proud not only of our modern reception and cozy lobby but above all of our new breakfast room. Also, we – and surely you, dear guests – can hardly wait for the first warm spring days because on our breakfast terrace, you can start the day wonderfully.

And because numbers are generally more meaningful – or at least more impressive – than the words "numerous," "much," or "a lot," here are a few more:

  • 562 switches and outlets were installed.
  • Daring with color: 670 liters of wall paint and varnish were used.
  • 6.2 km of cables are hidden behind walls, furniture, and under carpets.
  • Speaking of carpets: 2400 m² of new carpeting ensure coziness.
  • 582 new lamps provide atmospheric lighting.
  • 704 meters: This is the length of the new curtains – if you were to line them up.

In the future, we would like to share with you again the exciting daily life of the hotel in beautiful Bremen at this point. So, stay tuned!
